East Greenwich PRIDE Day
On Saturday, June 24th, East Greenwich celebrated PRIDE Month by holding its 3rd annual PRIDE Picnic gathering. Special thanks go to Matt Cosgrove and Michaela Shunney for organizing the event. Also, the Kent County Prevention Coalition, ASAPP, ASAPP II, the Academy Foundation, and the Town of East Greenwich, were essential for the day’s success. Adding to this, our mental health advocate friend, PAWS, enjoyed pitching in as well. What a great collaborative effort.
To top things off, the music was awesome, vendors were wonderful, and scores of young people provided fantastic support. This was certainly an event to be proud of. Stay tuned for much more in the upcoming months. See you soon – Bob Photos by Mara Henderson King |
Earth Day
A special thanks goes out to all of those who took part in the East Greenwich Earth Day cleanup. As the photos illustrate, young and old, helped make our downtown just a little more beautiful. In addition to helping with the cleanup participants found time for friendship, pizza and fun.
Initiatives like this one go a long way towards enhancing a sense of community. Thanks for your wonderful efforts – Bob |
